 delivery people deliver ordered items like milk, vegetables early in the morning, mostly before sunrise like between 5Am to 6AM. when the visit our home it will cause inconvenience if our pathway is dark.

if we connect regular LED bulb and switches it on during night, it solves problem, but delivery person wont use light for more than 10 mins max. so switching on the light only during that time will save lot of power than keeping the light on for whole night.

but how much power do we spend for switching on the light for whole night.

if it is one LED bulb of 9 watt

night 10 to morning 6 - 8 hours total

8X9watt= 72 watts X30 days = 2160 watts =2.16kwh which is 2 units

max spending for 2 units is 14 rupees per month at 7rs per unit. 

it is waste of energy to switch on the light for whole night. instead it should be On only when someone passes by.

to achieve this we need to buy lights with motion sensor which detects any motion near light and switches on the light.

how much can we save from using motion sensor bulb..?

say if we use the light for 15 min for the whole night everyday which is 15X30 = 450 min = 7.5 hours

7.5X9watt= 67.5 watts per month. 68 watts round.

68watts = 0.068watts X7 = 0.476 = 0.5 rupees.

Total saving per bulb = 14 - 0.5 = 13.5 rupees = 96.5% cost or energy saving.

how much can we spend to save 13.5 rupees every month..?

assuming that product works for 1 year that the product must pay atleast 12% in1 year.

that is by spending extra 150 rupees to motion sensor we get 12X13.5= 162 = 12 rupees earnings in an year. 

not much saving. so even if product damages travelling to service center or shop taking the bulb costs us more.

so if you are not going to use more bulbs in a row  to single motion sensor then investing on this is a total money waste.

but if you are going to install at places where there is no power line then motion sensor saves you much on periodic battery charging and transfers or on solar panels.

this cost more than what we have to actually spend for single bulb to save but we can use this more than 1 bulb by using wire extensions if we need..

it consumes only 1 watt.

we can easily change light if light damages and no need to throw costly sensor like which comes with inbuilt in bulbs.

one draw back in this is it switches on even if someone passes by during day time, so you need to switch off in the day time.
